These past couple weeks have been a whirlwind… In one week we had five different presentations, while everyone in the studio was continuously working to improve their designs and final presentations. After several nights with little to no sleep, I can say that I have a design and presentation that I am proud of.
Our studio then held an open house that was a great success. We had tons of people walking through our space and the designs on the walls sparked some great conversations with businessmen, students, and people who just happened to hear about the show and decided to see what all the excitement was about. It was a great opportunity to get the word out about the change that our studio envisions for Detroit, and we received excellent feedback from everyone that came.
Then to end of the semester we were given the chance to present to Dan Gilbert at the Quicken offices. I was extremely intimidated, but in the end it was an awesome experience and everyone there was very receptive to the ideas that our studio generated. We were also fortunate enough to be included in some press releases, radio shows and were even featured in the channel 7 news last night.
All in all it has been a great experience in DetroitSHOP these final weeks, and it has made me even more excited about what the future has to offer, not only for myself, but for the city of Detroit
